Cue the intro

Welcome to The Scooterist Music collection. The aim of this blog is to slowly work my way through some of the hundreds of CDs, albums and singles that I've collected over the last 30 years (Jesus - where did the time go?) and to review them online. Its going to take some time to do, at the last count I had around 850 CD albums, 150 vinyl albums and over 2000 singles, a collection that seems to increase everytime I look at it. But if I don't start now, then i'll never start.

There is northern soul, there is ska in all its forms, there is punk, there is psychobilly, there is R&B (the PROPER stuff, not the minimally dressed women and a pounding beat type!), there is reggae, there is jazz, there is heavy rock, there is.....well, you get the idea! I may even through in the occasional mod release if I think its worthwhile.

Which brings me to an important point here:

THIS IS NOT A LIST OF RECOMENDED LISTENING. Far from it, this is more of a resource for other collectors out there. I'm not going to try and suggest music to you, its more aimed at being a detailed list and what to expect. If you like what you read, then buy a copy. Simple as that. I'm not going to try and claim my taste is in any way or form 'right', its just my taste. If you like it, then great, if not then feel free to get in touch and tell me where and why I'm wrong. If it's in english and not full of obscenities then I'll post it alongside my original review.

I'd also like to make it a co-operative project, thats right - all you out there are invited to play too. Just try and follow the layout and forward your reviews to me here and I'll add them to the list. Nothing ambitious there then......

Happy listening, and remember, the scooter is the important part, but the music is the soundtrack to your life.

Nik
